BRAINS is a small, independent project run entirely by me, Tziporah. I am an artist who is inspired by science, consciousness, and the beauty of arborization.

 

I am drawn to the branching fractals which constitute many natural phenomenon like tree branches, neurons, rivers, and lightning, but also inhabit conceptual spaces - from the branching structures of thoughts and ideas to phylogenetic trees in evolution.

With these essential patterns in mind, I create every garment by hand using recycled clothes, making each piece a true 1of1. I work across techniques including bleach dying, hand painting, linocut printing, image transfer, embroidery, and patching. I am also always experimenting with new techniques to see what new patterns may emerge. I’m currently working toward a dedicated studio space to expand my methods and explore bigger projects.
